Does My Insurance Cover Acupuncture?
One of the most frequently asked questions I hear is, “Does insurance cover acupuncture treatments?
Good news – because of increased awareness of the benefits of acupuncture more and more insurance companies are covering acupuncture treatments. So if you have insurance, your treatment might be covered.
At BayTree Wellness Center, if acupuncture is a covered benefit we will accept and bill your insurance. Our insurance specialist will call your insurance company and verify your benefits – so you will know exactly what is covered.. The following questions will be asked to the insurance company:
Does the plan cover acupuncture?
Is a referral from an MD necessary to see an acupuncturist?
What conditions are covered for acupuncture treatments?
Who can provide the acupuncture? A licensed acupuncturist? An MD?
Is there a deductible that must be met? And if so, how much is it? How much of it has been met?
What percentage of the treatment fee does the insurance company pay?
Is there a limit on how many treatments or a dollar amount you can receive each year?
